Our History

As a leader in the Polyvinl Chloride (PVC) industry, Westlake Huasu is a reliable manufacturer and service provider of PVC & non-PVC calendaring films and relative products, meeting with the new demands of customers by continuous investment over the years.

  • 1992: Mr. T.T. Chao, former President of Westlake Group, founded Huasu.
  • 1994: The first phase of the project was completed, commissioning four film calendering lines with an annual capacity of 24,000 tons.
  • 1999: The Phase II project was completed, launching a PVC resin factory with an annual output of 120,000 tons.
  • 2001: Westlake Huasu achieved ISO 9001 certification.
  • 2001: Westlake Huasu’s film factory expanded with two new calendering lines, a six-color printer, and a four-layer laminator, increasing annual capacity to 36,000 tons.
  • 2002: Westlake Huasu obtained ISO 14001 Environment Management System certification.
  • 2003: The printing and laminating workshop was expanded with a new two-color wide format printer and a new coating laminator.
  • 2004: The film factory was expanded with a new coating laminator and wide sheet-calendering line.
  • 2007: The film factory was expanded with a new calender to produce semi-rigid film.
  • 2008: Westlake Huasu constructed a new profile factory equipped with 20 extrusion lines.
  • 2015: Westlake Group acquired INEOS ChlorVinyls' 35.7% interest, increasing its ownership in Westlake Huasu to 95%.
  • 2016: The profile factory shut down.
  • 2020: The film factory completed transformation and upgrade, installing an industry-leading water-based ink printing line.
  • 2021: Westlake Huasu built a new sewage purification workshop to enable water recycling.
  • 2021: Westlake Huasu was awarded the title of "Jiangsu Province Green Factory".
  • 2022: Westlake Huasu obtained the "Second-level National Safety Production Standardization Enterprise (Hazardous Chemicals)" certification.
  • 2022: Westlake Huasu was awarded as a "Jiangsu Province Water-saving Enterprise".
  • 2025: The PVC factory shut down.
  • 2025: Westlake Huasu has been recognized as a Jiangsu Provincial Enterprise Technology Center.
